Mount Cara Nursing Home is currently recruiting an Activities CoOrdinator
The Activity Coordinator works with residents and staff members to nurture a care home environment that enables each resident fulfill their social, cultural, and recreational needs and to maximise their independence in accordance with their wishes.
Role
- To provide a varied activities programme that addresses the needs of all residents as identified from the Activity Assessment.
- To carryout individual work with residents where indicated as appropriate.
- To carryout group session with residents to meet their recreational, leisure social and spiritual needs as expressed by the residents, their families, or caring and nursing staff.
- To provide an indirect service by maintaining the music, book and video library through the local Library service.
- To support residents in their activities of daily living to maintain their optimal level of autonomy and independence of functioning
- To work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary-Team.
- To carry out Person-Centred Care and maintain continuing professional development.
Main Activities
- Complete an Activities Assessment with all residents admitted to the Nursing Home.
- Plan a varied activity timetable to meet the residents’ physical, spiritual and emotional needs.
- Facilitate visiting groups to the Nursing home.
- Facilitate celebrations of cultural significance.
- Maintain the resident’s notice board.
- Maintain Activity log, and activity attendance documentation.
- Maintain high level of communication between resident’s family and staff promoting good rapport amongst residents, their families and staff.
- Assist in the maintenance of a high standard of cleanliness in the home
- Contribute to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the Home.
Part-time hours: 18-24 per week
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From €14.50 per hour
