API Ireland is seeking a Student Services Assistant, based in Limerick to work alongside our Resident Director, to manage our programmes and support API students in the University of Limerick. This role will be a full-time role until mid- December. Evening and weekend work is sometimes required, so flexibility with hours is a must.
Reporting to the Ireland Regional Director and the Limerick Resident Director the Student Services Assistant will assist with planning, pricing, budgeting, organisation and day to day operation of API's programmes in Limerick. This will include, but is not limited to, arranging student housing; design and delivery of on site orientations; organising and attending cultural activities, excursions and events for students; acting as a cultural coach to assist students in their cultural adaptation, and supporting students throughout their programme in Ireland.
The SSA will establish and maintain close relationships with host universities, housing agencies and other service providers, and work closely with API's finance, product and programming and marketing teams in relation to current programmes and the development of future programming.
The Student Services Assistant serves as API's primary liaison for students, handling academic and non-academic issues. This involves meeting frequently with students to discuss their goals and progress, assisting with their adjustment to studying in a foreign culture, and addressing student queries or concerns.

The right candidate will have a genuine interest in people, a good local knowledge of Limerick city and surrounds from a cultural, historical and tourist perspective. Requirements:
- Live in Limerick city
- University Degree in relevant field
- Excellent written and spoken communication, professionalism, time management and organisational skills required
- Ability to multi-task and work to strict deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Good knowledge of Limerick, Irish culture and history
- Personable with a genuine interest in people
- Genuine interest in working with international visitors to Ireland
Preferable:
- Experience of living or working abroad
- Experience working with and supporting large groups of students
- An interest in international education
- An understanding of international student needs and cultural differences
- Professional or academic experience with international students
- First hand experience of studying or working at the University of Limerick
