Transport Operations Coordinator
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (subject to successful completion of a 6-month probationary period)

Virginia International is seeking an organised and proactive Transport Operations Coordinator/Planner to join our
growing team. The role involves planning transport across Ireland, the UK and Europe, coordinating drivers and
vehicles, managing schedules, liaising with customers and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily transport movements, routes, collections and deliveries.
- Coordinate drivers, vehicles and transport resources efficiently.
- Manage operations using our in-house Transport Management System (MoveIT).
- Liaise with customers and respond to operational queries.
- Monitor schedules, vehicle availability and resolve issues as they arise.
- Assist with fleet servicing, maintenance and inspections.
- Maintain accurate transport and delivery records.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, drivers' hours and company procedures.
- Support continuous improvement within the transport department.
- Work with the wider operations team to maintain high customer service standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 18 months' experience in transport planning, logistics or a similar operational role.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills and experience with transport management or planning software. MoveIT experience is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Proactive, flexible and customer-focused approach.
- Good knowledge of the transport, logistics or haulage industry.
Desirable Experience
- Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related discipline with experience in transport planning
- Knowledge of import and export procedures
- Understanding of EU Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and Digital Tachograph legislation.
- Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment.
