Job Overview
Our client, a public sector organisation, is seeking a Procurement Officer at Grade VII level to join on a 6-month contract.
This role is responsible for supporting a compliant and efficient procurement function within a regulated environment.
The successful candidate will manage procurement activity across the organisation, including tendering, contract management, compliance monitoring, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage procurement activity across goods, services, and capital works

Develop and maintain procurement plans (annual and multi-annual)

Manage tendering processes in line with policy and governance requirements

Maintain contracts register and support contract management activity

Monitor supplier performance and address issues where required

Carry out expenditure analysis and reporting for senior management

Support compliance with procurement policy and governance standards

Provide procurement advice to internal stakeholders

Liaise with external audit bodies as required

Support value-for-money initiatives and reduce non-compliant spend

Deliver procurement training to internal teams

Build and maintain supplier relationships

Support continuous improvement within procurement processes

Contribute to projects and working groups

Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade
Requirements

Experience in procurement, finance, or a related role

Experience working in a regulated or public sector environment

Understanding of procurement processes, compliance, and governance

Experience in expenditure analysis and reporting

Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Minimum Leaving Certificate or equivalent experience
