Astron Engineering is seeking a skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Worker to join our team in Rathnew.
We are looking for someone with a flexible, hands-on skillset who is confident working with stainless steel and has experience across sheet metal fabrication, welding, cutting and fitting.
The successful candidate will be practical, reliable and solutions-focused, with the ability to work independently and take on a variety of tasks and challenges within the workshop.

Sheet metal fabrication and general metalwork

Working with stainless steel sheet material from 0.9mm to 2mm
-
TIG and MIG welding
-
Cutting, forming and fitting sheet metal components
-
Reading and working from drawings where required
-
Ensuring work is completed to a high standard of quality and accuracy

Identifying and resolving practical issues during fabrication
-
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
-
Working flexibly across different tasks as required by the business
The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in sheet metal work, fabrication or a similar role

Experience with TIG and MIG welding

Good practical and mechanical aptitude

Experience working with stainless steel

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality

A positive, flexible and "can-do" attitude
-
Good communication skills and a good standard of spoken English

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

A full, clean driving licence

€18 - €20 per hour, (depending on experience)
