Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA) are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Stores Controller to support our aircraft maintenance department based at Cork Airport, Ireland.
AFTA operate a large fleet of Cessna 172, Diamond DA40, Diamond DA42, Vulcanair P68 & Slingsby aircraft training domestic and international cadets for some of the world’s largest airlines and using the Vulcanair P68 aircraft to support our aerial survey division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of aircraft parts, tools, materials, and consumables required by the maintenance department. The role ensures that all components are procured, received, stored, tracked, and issued in accordance with regulatory standards, company procedures, and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of aircraft parts, tools, consumables, and maintenance materials using approved systems.
- Receive, inspect, label, store, and issue aircraft parts and materials in accordance with aviation procedures and company requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to support ongoing maintenance operations.
- Support purchasing activities including sourcing quotes, raising requests, tracking deliveries, and coordinating suppliers and repair vendors.
- Arrange logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments, including documentation and coordination of urgent operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory, purchasing, and traceability records to support regulatory compliance and audits.
- Support engineers and the maintenance team by ensuring required parts, tooling, and equipment are available for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Assist with tool control, calibration tracking, and materials issuing/return processes.
- Support maintenance administration activities, reporting, and operational coordination as required.
- Promote high standards of safety, housekeeping, compliance, and continuous improvement within the maintenance environment.
Successful candidate requirements
- Minimum 2+ years in logistics & inventory control (aviation experience is desired).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong logistical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Eligibility to hold airport restricted zone access.
- A responsible, flexible, and proactive approach to work.
- Fluent English speaker
