Barbershop Manager
Location: Celbridge/Maynooth/Newcastle region Co. Kildare
Role Overview
The Barbershop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, commercial performance and customer experience of the barbershop. The role combines hands-on barbering with leadership, ensuring the shop operates efficiently, delivers exceptional customer service and achieves revenue and profitability targets.
The successful candidate will lead by example, motivate the team and continually improve the customer experience while maintaining the highest professional standards.
Shop Operations
- Manage the day-to-day running of the barbershop.
- Ensure the shop opens and closes on time.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and operational.
- Manage stock levels and order retail products and consumables.
- Oversee cash handling and daily reconciliation.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and support the barbering team.
- Prepare weekly staff rotas.
- Manage holidays and staff availability.
- Recruit, train and onboard new barbers.
- Conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a positive, professional and customer-focused culture.
Customer Experience
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and promptly.
- Encourage repeat business and customer loyalty.
- Monitor online reviews and respond where appropriate.
- Maintain consistently high service standards across all staff.
Commercial Performance
- Increase average spend through retail product sales.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Help implement promotions and marketing campaigns.
- Work with the owner to grow the business.
Financial Responsibilities
- Monitor daily takings.
- Assist with weekly payroll information.
- Control stock losses and wastage.
- Manage operating expenses within agreed budgets.
- Produce regular performance reports for the owner.

- Maintain an active social media presence.
- Encourage customers to leave Google reviews.
- Promote seasonal offers.
- Develop relationships with local businesses.
- Organise promotional events where appropriate.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain hygiene standards.
- Ensure GDPR compliance where customer information is held.

Authority
The Barbershop Manager has authority to:
- Supervise day-to-day operations.
- Schedule staff.
- Approve routine purchases within agreed budgets.
- Resolve customer issues.
- Recommend recruitment, disciplinary action and promotions to the owner.
Major financial commitments, pricing changes, employment decisions and strategic business matters remain subject to owner approval.
This role is designed to allow the owner to focus on growing the business while having confidence that the shop is being run to a consistently high operational and commercial standard.
Pay: €45,000.00-€55,000.00 per year
