Senior Site Engineer
Location: Sligo, Co. Sligo
Our client, a leading Irish civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join their growing team in Sligo.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on major infrastructure, utilities, water, and civil engineering projects with a well-established contractor that has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with project managers, planners, quantity surveyors, subcontractors, and clients, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out, levelling and surveying works in accordance with project drawings and specifications
- Coordinating subcontractors and site teams
- Preparing method statements, risk assessments and construction programmes
- Developing traffic management plans and supporting road opening licence applications
- Managing quality control procedures and inspections
- Monitoring labour, plant and material resources
- Preparing as-built drawings, site diaries and technical reports
- Liaising with local authorities, utility providers and statutory bodies
- Resolving engineering and technical challenges on site
- Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements
- Supporting project planning, scheduling and budget management
- Assisting project managers in the successful delivery of projects
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong setting out and surveying experience
- Experience working on utilities, water, wastewater, roads, drainage, infrastructure or public works projects
- Excellent understanding of construction methodologies and site operations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Full clean driving licence
- Full eligibility to work in Ireland

Pay: €65,000.00-€80,000.00 per year
