About the Role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Early Years Educator to join our team in our creche setting.
The successful candidate will work with children aged 2–4 years, supporting their care, learning and development in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. The ideal person will be passionate about early childhood education, enjoy working as part of a team and be committed to providing high-quality experiences for children.
This role would suit an experienced childcare practitioner or an early years professional who is working towards completing their qualification and is looking to develop their career within a supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, responsive and respectful care to children aged 2–4 years.
- Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can learn through play.
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
- Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities based on children’s interests and developmental needs.
- Support children’s learning and development in line with Aistear: The Early Childhood Curriculum Framework.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with the wider childcare team to maintain consistent routines and high standards of care.
- Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene, transitions, indoor and outdoor play.
- Observe children’s development and contribute to learning records and planning.
- Follow all creche policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- QQI Level 6 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) or equivalent.
- Candidates who are currently completing QQI Level 6 and are close to achieving their qualification will also be considered.
- Previous experience working in an early years setting is desirable.
- Experience working with children aged 2–4 years would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of child development, play-based learning and early years best practice.
- Familiarity with Aistear and the principles of quality early childhood education is desirable.

Flexibility Requirement
As part of our team, flexibility is important. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and support the smooth running of the creche.
This may include providing cover for colleagues during periods of leave and, where required, working on alternative days from their usual schedule with reasonable notice, depending on the operational needs of the service.
