Operate mechanical equipment safely to excavate rock, clay, sand, gravel, and slate aggregates.
- Operate trucks and equipment like rock crushers, stone graders, drilling equipment, excavators, loading shovels, rollers, dump trucks, crushers and screeners and assist with general operative duties such as construction work. • Check machinery is in good working order.
- Ensure quality material gets loaded in accordance with orders and Company standards.
- Follow H&S procedures to ensure a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
- Assist with outgoing deliveries, inventory and stock control and ensure stock is available to fill the orders for the drivers
- Assist management to ensure daily operations run smoothly, hazards are removed from work areas and kept clear of obstacles and standards are maintained to avoid accidents and for safe truck passage.
- Assist with inspections for wear and damage of machinery and notify if parts may need replacing or maintenance or begin to appear worn or damaged.
- Ensure compliance with current H&S requirements for our industry and the Company’s SOPs, employee handbook and polices and procedures.
- Crosstrain in tarmacadam manufacturing department.
