At Apleona, we are currently recruiting for a Waste Operative to be based in Waterford
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (14:30-23:00), 40 hours per week
Main duties and responsibilities
General services operatives are responsible for dealing with hazardous and non hazardous waste management on site.
- To service hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection points throughout client site
- Empty Non-hazardous bins
- Empty Hazardous waste bins
- Filling and use of the general waste compactor

Filling and use of the Dry Mixed Recyclable Compactor Baling of cardboard, plastic, and paper waste streams
- Loading of curtainsiders and containers by use of Forklift
- Completion of all ADR/IMDG paperwork for shipments of hazardous waste off site
- Decanting of hazardous waste streams on site
- Completion of all relevant paperwork with regard non-hazardous waste
- Other paperwork and admin duties
- Liaise with waste management vendors
- Salting of the car park over the winter months
- Ad hoc duties as required by the line manager
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in Environmental or Waste management desirable but not essential.
- Ability to demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety good practice in relation to cleaning procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation
- Ability to work on their own, well-organised and capable of prioritising own work
- Flexible, Honest and reliable
- Excellent Work Record
- Forklift training a distinct advantage.
