Emerald Care RCS is seeking a Residential Care Worker for our Separated Children Seeking International Protection (SCSIP) centre in Naas, Co. Kildare. The role involves providing safe, consistent and nurturing care to young people who may have experienced trauma, displacement, loss or separation from family. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the post‑holder supports each young person to adapt to life in Ireland, develop essential life skills and build confidence, stability and independence.
The Residential Care Worker builds therapeutic and culturally sensitive relationships, delivers day‑to‑day care, and contributes to structured interventions that support emotional, social and developmental needs. The role includes advocating for the rights, welfare and cultural identity of each young person and ensuring their voice is central in all aspects of their care.
Residential care aims to provide a safe, trauma‑informed and culturally responsive environment where young people can experience stability, develop coping skills and work towards long‑term goals such as reunification, fostering or independent living.
Minimum Requirements:
- QQI Level 7 or above in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Youth & Community, or another recognised relevant field OR registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker.
- Full driving licence.
- Legally permitted to work in Ireland.
Core Skills:
- Strong understanding of trauma‑informed practice.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building and record‑keeping skills.
Pay: €16.30 per hour
