About the Opportunity
A leading international contractor is seeking an experienced
CSA Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in
Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale
Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Manufacturing and Commercial Construction Projects, supporting the successful commercial delivery of complex
Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) packages from pre-construction through to final account.
The successful candidate will play a key role in
cost management, procurement, subcontractor management, contract administration, commercial reporting, valuation management, and project financial control, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in accordance with contractual requirements.
The Role - CSA Quantity Surveyor
As CSA Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of CSA works, supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring robust cost control and commercial performance across multiple projects.
You will work closely with
Project Managers, Construction Managers, Commercial Managers, Design Teams, Clients, Consultants and Subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities of the CSA Quantity Surveyor
- Manage all commercial aspects of CSA Construction Packages, including cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, subcontract management, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Prepare and manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), cost reports, cash flow forecasts, commercial dashboards, and project financial reporting, ensuring accurate commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, change management procedures, claims management, risk mitigation strategies, and commercial governance requirements.
- Manage subcontractor procurement processes including tendering, bid evaluations, negotiations, appointments, payment applications, and commercial performance reviews.
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities while supporting project profitability, margin improvement initiatives, and value engineering opportunities.
- Review and evaluate variations, compensation events, change orders, extensions of time, and contractual claims, ensuring timely agreement and recovery of project entitlements.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective commercial management, project reporting, and successful financial close-out of projects.
Necessary Requirements of the CSA Quantity Surveyor
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, with 3-8+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor, CSA Quantity Surveyor, Cost Consultant, Commercial Engineer, or Commercial Management role within the construction industry.
- Proven experience delivering CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) packages across Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Commercial, Manufacturing, or Mission-Critical Construction Projects, with responsibility for cost management, procurement, commercial reporting, subcontractor management, valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, including Cost Control, Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), Budgeting, Forecasting, Risk Management, Contract Administration, Procurement Strategies, Change Management, and Commercial Reporting, with experience working under NEC, JCT, FIDIC, or Public Works Contracts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems, with excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with Project Teams, Clients, Consultants, and Subcontractors to drive successful commercial project outcomes.
- Must have full working rights in Ireland (EU/EEA citizenship, Stamp 4, or equivalent) and be available to work on-site in Co. Wicklow.
