JOB OVERVIEW
The Group Sales & Marketing Officer will be responsible for proactively achieving sales targets and executing focused sales plans for designated market segments. Reporting to the General Managers, this role aims to increase revenue and optimise yield, particularly for room sales, ensuring budgeted targets for revenue, occupancy, and average room rates are met. You will promote the Hotels on both national and international levels, maintaining existing business and developing new opportunities to drive sales growth.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform day-to-day sales activities, including lead generation, face-to-face meetings, contracting and rate negotiation, site inspections, attendance at trade shows, client entertainment, and national/international sales trips.
- Identify key competitors and carry out regular competitor analysis, monitoring their performance, rates, and sales activities.
- Work in conjunction with the Reservations team to generate leads through proactive sales activities and calls to achieve MICE and Corporate Room Revenue targets. Lead and co-ordinate sales activities in order to secure new business and develop the Hotels' brand.
- Ensure the accurate processing, distribution, recording, filing, and follow-up of all sales correspondence, including the execution of contracts, quotations, confirmations, cancellations, etc.
- Contract corporate rates annually with key corporate accounts.
- Research past business for each property and devise quarterly plans to present to Management.
- Support lead conversion activities, visit prospective clients, and maintain an up-to-date client database.
- Proactively sell all event spaces to prospective corporate clients, agencies, and private bookings.
- Organise, plan, and promote regular business networking events, trade events, and guest events in order to enhance the brand image. Attend Group consumer and trade promotions as required and schedule relevant individual promotions for the Hotels.
- Recognise and capitalise on opportunities for PR and media exposure for the Hotels.
- Be fully aware of key market developments and other factors that may influence business or create favourable market conditions.
- Conform to the monthly sales reporting requirements as directed by Management.
- Ensure commercial and effective yield management is applied across all sources of business and maintain a strong understanding of revenue management principles.
- Execute quarterly activity plans to create focus for the team and adapt activities to support business needs.
- Assist at Board level in the formulation of commercial strategy and the co-ordination of quarterly sales campaigns and action plans in collaboration with the Hotels.
