Training Instructor
Job Purpose
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to support the Technical Academy in the preparation, development and delivery of best practice and sustainable industry themed training.
This role requires a practically orientated individual with suitable hands-on construction site experience, ideally in the areas of plastering and drylining who has knowledge of fabric first energy efficiency installation practices along with basic industry knowledge of relevant building regulations and standards, who can demonstrate clear and concise communication skills to assist in the development and set up of practical based training initiatives.
Reporting to the Technical Academy Manager as part of a small team of instructors, the role will primarily be based from our Kingscourt Academy with requirements to support off-site training activity and training delivered at our Dublin Academy.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain a safe Technical Academy training environment
- Always demonstrate safe working practices
- Leading and assisting the delivery of practically orientated face-to-face training courses
- Leading and assisting the delivery of construction orientated online theoretical training sessions
- Build, prepare and maintain training displays and support materials
- Maintaining tools and equipment associated with the Technical Academy’s training in safe working order
Key Responsibilities
- Initiating and assisting with organising training activity with relevant stakeholders to maintain Technical Academy activity and support wider commercial initiatives
- Relevant organisational and post event training communication as necessary with training attendees before and after training activities
- Support the team in ensuring up-to-date content on Technical Academy website, web-portal and within Salesforce CMS system.
- Support the accurate reporting of Technical Academy training activity.
- Maintain up to date knowledge and skills of relevant working practices, regulations and standards
- Contribute towards and support the Technical Academy in the ideation and development of maintaining existing and creation of new training initiatives
- Transportation of training materials between Academies and for external demonstrations
- As part of the Technical Academy team, support innovation initiatives and the development of new product development as required by wider business teams.
Qualifications
- Suitably rounded site-based experience, preferably relevant to plastering and internal dry-lining with knowledge of fabric first energy efficiency installation practices, ideally supported by appropriate qualifications / demonstration of experience.
- ICT competence with proficiency in MS Office.
