At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
As a Planner at Jacobs, you'll do more than build schedules. You'll help shape the successful delivery of some of Ireland's most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes.
Your expertise will provide the clarity, structure, and foresight that keeps major projects moving forward, helping project teams anticipate challenges, make informed decisions, and deliver outcomes that improve communities, connect people, and create a more sustainable future.
You'll be at the centre of key delivery conversations, influencing strategy, supporting critical decision-making, and ensuring projects remain on track from concept through to completion.
Why Join Jacobs?
When you join Jacobs, you'll become part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team that is delivering projects that truly matter.
You'll benefit from:
The opportunity to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure and capital projects that leave a lasting legacy.
A clear career pathway within a growing project controls and planning community.
Exposure to industry-leading programmes, clients, and technical specialists.
A culture that prioritises flexibility, wellbeing, inclusion, and professional development.
Access to global expertise, innovative tools, and world-class learning opportunities across the Jacobs network.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll take ownership of project schedules that drive successful delivery across major programmes and complex infrastructure projects.
You'll:
Develop, maintain, and optimise integrated project schedules that provide a clear roadmap for delivery success.
Ensure activities are logically sequenced, resource-aligned, and fully connected to key programme milestones.
Monitor project performance, analyse schedule trends, and identify risks and opportunities before they impact delivery.
Provide robust forecasting, scenario analysis, and planning insights that support strategic decision-making.
Partner with multidisciplinary project teams to coordinate activities and drive alignment across multiple workstreams.
Produce meaningful progress reports and schedule intelligence that supports confidence and transparency for clients and stakeholders.
A Role with Visibility and Influence
This is a highly visible role where your planning expertise will directly influence project outcomes. You'll be a trusted advisor to project teams and leadership, providing the insights, challenge, and strategic direction needed to deliver complex programmes with confidence.
If you're passionate about turning complexity into clarity and want to see the real-world impact of your work on some of Ireland's most exciting infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.
Here's what you'll need
We're looking for planners who enjoy solving complex challenges, influencing project outcomes, and bringing clarity to large-scale programmes.
You'll be someone who can combine technical planning expertise with commercial awareness and strong stakeholder engagement skills. Ideally, you'll bring:
Proven experience developing, maintaining, and optimising complex project schedules across major infrastructure, engineering, construction, or capital projects.
Strong proficiency in industry-standard planning tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent scheduling software.
The ability to analyse programme performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and provide practical recommendations that support successful delivery.
A strong understanding of planning principles, critical path analysis, progress measurement, and forecasting techniques.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to engage project teams, clients, and senior stakeholders.
A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for driving project success.
The ability to transform complex programme data into clear, meaningful insights that support informed decision-making.
Why Join Jacobs?
At Jacobs, you'll have the opportunity to work on projects that make a real difference to communities, economies, and the environment.
When you join our Planning team, you'll benefit from:
Working on some of Ireland's most exciting and nationally significant infrastructure and capital programmes.
Being part of a collaborative Project Controls community where knowledge-sharing and innovation are encouraged.
Access to exceptional career development opportunities, mentoring, and structured learning programmes.
The flexibility and support to balance your professional ambitions with your personal priorities.
A culture built on inclusion, wellbeing, and empowering people to thrive.
The opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading experts across our global business and international project portfolio.
Most importantly, you'll be joining a company that invests in its people and gives you the opportunity to grow your career while delivering projects that leave a lasting legacy.
Ready to Make an Impact?
If you're motivated by solving complex challenges, influencing major project outcomes, and helping deliver infrastructure that shapes the future, we'd love to hear from you.
Join Jacobs and bring clarity, confidence, and direction to the projects transforming Ireland for generations to come.
