About the Role.
We’re looking for a commercially driven and customer-focused Sales Hire Controller to join our Drogheda team. This is a key position where you’ll play a direct role in driving revenue, maximising margin, and delivering excellent customer service across our hire operations.
This is a 12-month maternity cover contract, with strong exposure to a growing business and potential future opportunities within the wider AER Rents Group.

What You’ll Be Doing
This is a fast-paced, varied role combining sales, operations, and customer service:
Sales & Customer Service
- Handle inbound enquiries and convert them into profitable hire and sales orders
- Build strong relationships with customers across construction and trade sectors
- Prepare and follow up on quotations to maximise conversion
Commercial Performance
- Negotiate hire rates to optimise margin and revenue
- Contribute to branch sales targets and performance goals
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services
Operations & Coordination
- Process orders accurately and efficiently
- Work closely with operations teams to allocate equipment and coordinate transport
- Ensure smooth order fulfilment and high service levels
Systems & Administration
- Maintain accurate records in CRM and internal systems
- Support payment processing and resolve customer queries
- Assist with general branch administration
What We’re Looking For
You’ll succeed in this role if you are commercially aware, organised, and confident dealing with customers.
Essential:
- 2+ years’ experience in sales, customer service, or hire control
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- IT literacy, including MS Excel
- Full driving licence
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in plant hire, construction, builders merchants, or tool hire
- Knowledge of construction equipment or related products

Training & Development
Full training will be provided, including:
- Internal systems (Syrinx, CRM)

Additional Information
- Based on-site in Drogheda
- One Saturday per month required (rota basis)
Pay: €36,000.00-€37,500.00 per year
