Lugus is currently looking to hire a Trainee Accountant for a busy South Dublin City (Dublin 2) office working on a portfolio of assets located across Dublin City centre.
Lugus is an Irish-based value investor operating in the real estate market. Lugus specialises in the acquisition, development and management of real estate assets. The breadth of our team’s experience enables us to deploy capital in value-add strategies across three divisions – residential, commercial and healthcare real estate.
The successful candidate will be joining an established Accounts team and will be responsible for both carrying out and assisting with:
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process and record supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Assist in the preparation and process of payment runs.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Raise customer invoices and ensure timely recording of payments received.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and assist in credit control efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of customer accounts and resolve queries promptly.
Bank Reconciliation
- Reconcile bank statements to the accounting system regularly.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or anomalies.
General Ledger Maintenance
- Post journal entries and ensure accuracy of ledger accounts.
- Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
Financial Reporting Support
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Provide support during the budgeting and forecasting process

Ideal Candidate Profile
- A third-level degree in finance or similar qualification
- Any prior experience in finance using QuickBooks and Yardi would be advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisational, and computer skills.
- A proactive team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
