Noreside Engineering Group, a leading provider of precision engineering and fabrication solutions in the South East, is seeking a experienced General Operative to join our dynamic team in Kilkenny.
Role Summary
Noreside Engineering Group is seeking a reliable and motivated General Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will support our engineering and maintenance teams across a range of site and workshop-based tasks. This is a physical, hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, works well as part of a team, and is committed to maintaining a safe and productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified engineers and maintenance fitters with day-to-day tasks on site and in the workshop.
- Carry out general labouring duties including loading, unloading, and movement of materials and equipment.
- Assist with the installation, removal, and relocation of machinery and equipment as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop, site areas, and storage facilities.
- Assist with the preparation of work areas prior to maintenance or installation activities.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks under supervision, including cleaning, greasing, and inspection of equipment.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles and management of stock and materials.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE at all times, and report hazards promptly.
- Support the wider team with any general operational tasks as required by management.
- Travel between sites as required by the business.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a general operative, labouring, or similar hands-on role is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided.
- Safe Pass certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
- Manual Handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices in a workshop or site environment.
- Full clean Irish licence required.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in varying weather conditions may be required.
