Job Purpose
The Repair Operative is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and refurbishing wooden pallets to company quality standards. The role involves using hand tools, power tools, and repair equipment to ensure pallets are safe, structurally sound, and ready for reuse or resale. The Repair Operative plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency, workplace safety, and sustainability objectives within the Pallet Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming pallets and assess repair requirements.
- Repair damaged pallets using approved methods and materials.
- Replace broken or damaged boards, blocks, and other pallet components.
- Operate pneumatic nail guns, hand tools, and other repair equipment safely.
- Sort pallets according to size, grade, and repair status.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards at all times.
- Ensure repaired pallets meet customer and company specifications.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report equipment faults, safety concerns, or quality issues to supervisors.
- Assist with loading, unloading, stacking, and moving pallets as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and general housekeeping duties.

- Experience using nail guns and woodworking equipment.
- Forklift licence (if applicable).
Physical Requirements
- Regular lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Capability to handle repetitive manual tasks safely.
Pay: €16.23 per hour
