Established in 1976, Shortt Stainless Steel is Ireland's largest integrated stainless steel service centre, supplying products and processing services to industries including Pharmaceutical, Food Processing, Dairy, Brewing and Agriculture.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team.
This role is ideal for candidates with warehouse, logistics or industrial experience who enjoy hands-on work and operating materials handling equipment. We are particularly interested in individuals who are organised, safety-conscious and take pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 10:00am – 6:30pm
- Friday: 10:00am – 5:30pm
Working as part of a busy warehouse operation, you will play a key role in supporting customer orders, production requirements and the day-to-day movement of materials throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Support internal order picking to meet production and manufacturing schedules
- Handle and move materials safely using forklifts and other equipment
- Assist with stock handling, organisation, labelling and storage
- Load and unload oversized materials from trucks and storage racks
- Carry out quality checks on materials and finished goods
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day warehouse operations
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies
Skills & Experience
- Valid Counterbalance and Reach Forklift Licences required
- Minimum 1 year's warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
- Experience handling large or heavy materials is advantageous
- Good computer literacy
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Manual Handling Certificate advantageous but not essential
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Fluent spoken and written English
- Full permission to work in Ireland on a full-time basis
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and capable of safely handling materials up to 25kg
