We are currently seeking a passionate and reliable Deli Chef to join our team at the retail cafe in Portiuncula Hospital. This role is central to delivering high-quality, freshly prepared food to staff, visitors, and patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The successful candidate will have a strong focus on food quality, presentation, hygiene, and customer service, ensuring a consistent and positive dining experience.

Prepare and serve a variety of fresh deli items including sandwiches, salads, hot food, and daily specials

Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation

Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP compliance)

Monitor food stock levels, rotation, and minimise waste

Ensure the deli area is clean, organised, and fully stocked at all times

Deliver friendly and efficient customer service in a busy cafe setting

Follow all hospital guidelines relating to food safety and infection control

Support the wider cafe and retail team as required

Previous experience in a deli, cafe, or food service environment is essential

Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Flexibility with working hours, including early mornings and weekends

Experience working in a healthcare or contract catering environment

Food Safety / HACCP certification
