Self-Employed Hairdresser – Clearbrook Nursing Home, Finglas, Dublin 11

Clearbrook Nursing Home is a 90-bed nursing home located in Finglas, Dublin 11. We are seeking an experienced, friendly and reliable Self-Employed Hairdresser to provide regular hairdressing services to our residents.
The Nursing Home has a dedicated on-site hairdressing salon.
This is a self-employed, part-time opportunity, ideally providing services approximately two days per week (approx 15 - 20 hours per week).
There is flexibility in how these hours are arranged. For example, services could be provided over two full days or a number of shorter/half days, depending on the hairdresser's availability and the needs of our residents.
Services
The successful hairdresser should be experienced and confident in providing a broad range of ladies' and men's hairdressing services, including:
- Wash and blow-dries
- Haircuts and styling
- Colour services
- Ladies Perms
- Men's haircuts and grooming
- General hairdressing services
Experience working with older people or within a nursing home, healthcare or similar setting would be an advantage, although this is not essential.
We are particularly looking for someone who is patient, friendly, professional and personable, and who will enjoy getting to know our residents and providing a positive and enjoyable salon experience.
Salon, Equipment & Products
Clearbrook Nursing Home will provide access to our dedicated hairdressing salon and fixed salon facilities, including the hairdressing chair and wash basin.
As an independent, self-employed hairdresser, the successful applicant will be required to provide their own professional hairdressing equipment, tools and products necessary to carry out their services.
Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Be suitably qualified and experienced in hairdressing
- Operate on a self-employed basis
- Hold appropriate and current professional/public liability insurance
- Provide their own hairdressing equipment, tools and products
- Complete satisfactory Garda Vetting prior to commencing (through the nursing home)
- Attend and successfully complete required Safeguarding Training through the nursing home
- Demonstrate a professional, patient and respectful approach when working with older people
Payment Arrangements
As this is a self-employed arrangement, residents may pay the hairdresser directly by cash or using their own card machine.
Where appropriate, hairdressing services for our long-term residents may be recorded through the Nursing Home. The hairdresser can then invoice for these services and payment will be processed by the Nursing Home on a monthly basis.
