Niaron Ltd are looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join our team to manage and drive the Health & Safety agenda within Niaron Ltd. to ensure compliance and best practice across all areas of the business and to assist with Quality and Training objectives within Niaron Ltd.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- Advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety in accordance with Company policy and relevant statutory provisions.
- Drive all organisational H&S activities; maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.
- To ensure the business maintains a high standard of health and safety in warehouses, offices and on all sites.
- Carry out regular site safety audits, risk assessments and document the findings for management and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Develop & Maintain in-house Safety Training Program
- Carry out accident investigations and ensure remedial actions are put in place
- To collate and maintain any data, records or other information required for health and safety within Niaron Ltd
- To facilitate the implementation, monitoring and review of the Companies health and Safety policies and assist with the implementation of new company safety procedures
- Advise management on health and safety laws, regulations and directives which affect the company and its employees
- You will deliver and complete statutory notifications to the Health & Safety Authority for all incident / accident reporting.
- Maintain and Administer the Company’s safety manuals, standards, procedures and other related H&S documents and training documentation.
- Maintain and administer all Personal Injury claims made against the Company and act as the main liaison between the Company and Insurance Provider
- Ensuring that record of statutory inspections are kept for all activities and plant equipment.
- Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or contractors working on site.
- Managing and making recommendations for Personal Protection Equipment required.
- Assisting Site Management in compiling cost records and forecasts for all issues associated with Health & Safety including, but not limited to, contra charges, training, purchases, etc.
- Organising and taking part in the Safety Meetings.
- Ensuring sub-contractor safety statements and required Method statement are available on site and assess sub-contractor statements and method statements, assisting where required.
- Advising / assisting Site Management in drafting and communicating Method Statements.
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements:
- Ideal candidate will be diploma/degree qualified in Health & Safety with hands on experience
- Exposure to or a history of working in construction & civil engineering
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures, publications and an ability to interpret relevant legislation.
- Proven ability to carry out effective investigations, audits, inspections and compile reports and recommendations as appropriate.
- Proven ability to apply best practice to prevent / reduce injury claims and carry out and manage incident investigations.
- High level of communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in the application of Microsoft office suite.
- Ambitious self-starter with the confidence and drive and take ownership of cross functional processes.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Time flexibility required.
- Full clean driver’s licence.
- Positive, energetic and focused, with good organisational ability
- Experienced in working autonomously and within teams in fast-paced environment
