Johnston Shopfitters has a requirement for a General Operative to work within and assist our specialised workshop, warehouse and site project team on a variety of projects in line with the company standards and client requirements. An experienced Operative who has a strong work ethic, flexible approach, and a genuine desire to always provide excellent customer care.
Main Duties & Responsibilities (this is not an exhaustive list)
- Organising stock within the warehouse
- Loading and unloading boxes
- Picking and packing orders
- Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required
- Ensure that you are working in line with current health and safety standards
- Take full responsibility for all health and safety issues for which he/she is responsible
- Any other duties that may be assigned by your Line Manager
Person Specification
- Safe Pass is an advantage
- Shop fitting Trade experience or qualification is an advantage
- Full driving license is required
- Valid forklift licence is an advantage
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- Open to learning technical specifications of products and installations
- Minimum 1 years' experience in a similar role is essential
- Experience of using hand and power tools is an advantage
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be flexible as there will be a requirement for overtime on occasion
- Must possess a dynamic approach to achieving continuous improvement
- Fluency in English is essential
- Ability to work within tight deadlines in a busy environment
- Flexible approach to duties undertaken
- Ability to work on own initiative and must be self-motivated
- Strong demeanour as role can place physical demands and heavy lifting may be involved
- Good time keeping and reliable
- Ability to learn quickly in a busy fast paced environment
- Must be a team player
- Flexibility is required within this role and willingness to work overtime
