We are seeking Airport Engineers to join our dedicated on-site team at Dublin Airport, supporting passenger processing technologies that are essential to airport and airline operations. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, operationally critical environment where technology availability directly impacts the passenger journey.
About the Role
As an Airport Engineer, you will provide first-line technical support, maintenance and operational assistance for passenger processing systems across the airport estate. You will be responsible for ensuring that passenger check-in, self-service kiosk and automated bag-drop technologies remain fully operational and available to support airport operations.
Working within a dedicated engineering team, you will diagnose and resolve hardware issues, perform preventative maintenance, support installations and upgrades, manage spare parts inventories and maintain accurate asset records.
Key Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support for passenger processing systems, including:
- Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS)

Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) Kiosks

Self-Service Bag Drop (SSBD) equipment
- Diagnose and resolve hardware faults, equipment failures and peripheral issues.

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and cleaning activities to maximise equipment availability.

Replace and repair hardware components and field-replaceable units.

Respond to incidents, service requests and operational alerts through the designated IT Service Management (ITSM) platform.

Support equipment installations, moves, additions and changes (IMAC activities).

Maintain accurate records of all supported equipment, including asset tags, serial numbers, locations, hardware changes, warranty information and maintenance history within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), asset management and service management systems.

Ensure all equipment moves, additions, changes, repairs and replacements are accurately recorded and traceable throughout the asset lifecycle.

Manage spare parts inventory, warranty returns and stock control processes.

Work closely with airport operations, service desk and technical support teams to maintain agreed service levels.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational readiness across the airport environment.
Skills & Experience
Essential
-
Previous experience in a desktop support, field engineering, hardware support or technical maintenance role.

Strong hardware troubleshooting and break-fix experience.

Experience supporting Windows-based devices, printers, scanners, touchscreens or self-service technologies.

Experience using ServiceNow and/or other IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.

Experience working within ticket-driven support environments and to service level agreements (SLAs).

Ability to work independently in a customer-facing operational environment.

Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Full driving licence and ability to travel between airport locations where required.
Desirable Only

Experience within an airport, aviation, transport or other operationally critical environment.

Experience supporting kiosks, passenger processing systems or self-service technologies.

Experience maintaining IT asset inventories, equipment records and Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs).

Experience supporting asset lifecycle management and inventory control processes.

Previous airside operational experience.
Shift Pattern
This role forms part of a dedicated engineering team providing support across a 24x7 airport operation. Candidates must be flexible to work a rotating shift pattern, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays, as required to maintain service coverage and operational resilience.
Security & Airside Requirements
Due to airport security and airside access requirements, all successful candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining an airport security pass.
Applicants must be able to provide a fully verifiable five-year employment, education and address history. Any significant unexplained gaps, or periods that cannot be satisfactorily evidenced through references or supporting documentation, may affect eligibility for airport security clearance and airside access approval.
