We are seeking an EHS Specialist to support and maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performing working environment across the site. This role is responsible for implementing and continuously improving the site's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems, ensuring compliance with Haleon standards, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
Acting as a subject matter expert, you will partner with site teams to drive a strong safety culture, improve EHS performance, and support risk reduction activities across engineering, manufacturing, and project operations.
Promote and maintain the highest standards of EHS performance across the site.
Develop, implement, and update EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety reviews.
Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
Carry out site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and preventative actions.
Support compliance with Haleon standards, local legislation, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and support emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness activities.
Partner with site leadership, project teams, and contractors to embed a proactive safety culture.
Maintain EHS records, reports, and compliance documentation.
Support continuous improvement and risk reduction initiatives across the site.
Represent the site within Haleon's EHS communities of practice and cross-site forums.
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
3-5 years' experience in an EHS, Health & Safety, or Safety Management role.
Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, regulatory requirements, and safety management systems.
Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred
Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards chartered status.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceutical, medical device, or FMCG environments.
Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multicultural environments.
