As Assistant Retail Manager, you will support the Retail Manager in the day-to-day operation of our retail units at University Hospital Galway. Your key responsibilities will include:

Organising and supervising the daily operation of the retail units, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.

Supporting and motivating our teams to continually improve the customer experience and maintain high standards of service.

Responding efficiently and professionally to customer feedback regarding products and services, ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken where required.

Providing timely, constructive feedback to team members, both formally and informally, to support their ongoing development.

Completing daily and weekly cash-handling and administrative duties in line with Aramark Financial Policies.

Completing monthly stock inventories in accordance with the Aramark Financial Calendar and ensuring stock levels are maintained within agreed targets.

Ordering retail supplies, stock and equipment as required, working closely with the Campus Purchasing Manager.

Monitoring operational costs and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiencies.

Supporting the recruitment, retention and development of team members through coaching, counselling, performance management and, where required, disciplinary procedures in line with the Aramark Employee Handbook.

Completing staff performance reviews and providing constructive feedback to improve performance and productivity.

Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming retail environment for employees, patients, visitors and customers in accordance with Aramark Health & Safety policies and applicable ISO standards.

Identifying current and future customer requirements by building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders across the hospital campus.

Working with other Aramark Retail Managers to keep up to date with market trends, customer preferences, product ranges and sales mix.

Following all reasonable instructions and operational requirements as directed by the Retail Manager.

Taking responsibility for the Retail Manager's duties and overseeing the retail operation during periods of their absence.
