Its operations are split across North America (11 manufacturing plants), The UK and Lommel (6 manufacturing plants) and Europe (9 manufacturing plants). The company is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. IPL Schoeller is a leading manufacturer of sustainable rigid packaging solutions across a range of end market segments including returnable transit packaging, consumer and industrial packaging, environmental containers and agricultural packaging. The company employs c.4,100 employees across North America (1,600 employees) and Europe (2,500 employees).

The role
As Corporate Strategy Director, you will work with our Chief Strategy Officer to support our strategic growth initiatives. You will be a results-oriented professional who possesses a deep understanding of market dynamics and trends in our industry. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future by identifying, evaluating, and executing key investments, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities. You will bring a blend of strategic vision and practical implementation skills to drive sustainable growth and innovation throughout our organization. We are looking for a leader who can effectively communicate and collaborate across various teams, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability. As a crucial member of our executive team, the Corporate Strategy Director will work closely with senior leadership to formulate our long-term strategic plan, with a focus on leveraging industry opportunities that align with our corporate objectives.
- Develop and implement corporate development strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Support the evaluation of M&A opportunities, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform decision-making.
- Support negotiations and due diligence processes for potential acquisitions, disposals and partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new business initiatives into existing operations.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies within the plastics sector.
Prepare and present analysis to senior executives and the board of directors
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate development, strategy, or investment banking.
- Proven track record of successfully executing M&A transactions and strategic partnerships from end to end.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of the plastics industry and its market dynamics is not essential.
- Leadership experience with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Experience with change management methodologies and best practices
- Be customer centric, ability to connect, interact, and build relationships
