The Opportunity
This is a sales-focused role, but it is not a hard-selling or high-pressure sales position. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior team to identify opportunities, speak with potential clients, support proposal preparation and ensure that leads are followed up in a structured and professional way.
A key part of the role will be bridging the gap between initial conversations and formal follow-up. This means taking ownership of actions after calls or meetings, keeping prospects warm, helping prepare proposals, and ensuring opportunities do not fall away due to lack of contact or structure.
The role will also support Calmor’s ambition to generate more work in the South of Ireland, while continuing to engage with target sectors such as data centres, manufacturing, construction, large contractors and sub-contractors.
This role would suit someone who is organised, confident speaking with people, commercially aware and able to understand technical services well enough to communicate them clearly. A technical background would be desirable, but not essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential clients, projects and decision makers across target sectors including data centres, manufacturing, construction, building management systems and large contractors.
- Support business development activity in Ireland and wider target markets.
- Make initial contact with prospects by phone, email and LinkedIn.
- Introduce Calmor Consulting’s M&E design services in a clear and professional way.
- Qualify opportunities and arrange follow-up calls or meetings for the senior team.
- Bridge the gap between initial conversations and next steps by ensuring timely follow-up.
- Maintain a clear record of leads, contacts, actions and pipeline progress.
- Support the preparation of proposals, quotations, capability documents and tender responses where required.
- Follow up on submitted proposals and help progress opportunities through the sales pipeline.
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors and project contacts.
- Provide light support with LinkedIn outreach, email campaigns and basic sales materials where this supports lead generation.
