Job Summary:
The Stores Team Lead & Inventory Controller is responsible for the day-to-day running of the stores department while ensuring high levels of inventory accuracy across the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead by example, supporting the stores team while taking ownership of stock control, inventory accuracy and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Purchasing, Production and Planning to ensure materials are available when needed and inventory records accurately reflect physical stock.
The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and naturally take responsibility for improving how the stores operate.
This role reports to the Supply Chain Team Lead, under the supervision of the operations Manager
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
· Lead and support the stores team on a daily basis.
· Allocate workload and ensure priorities are completed.
· Lead by example through a hands-on approach.
· Train and support team members.
· Promote a positive, safe and organised working environment.
· Ensure all goods are received, stored and issued accurately.
· Ensure production kits are prepared accurately and on time.
· Maintain an organised stores layout that supports efficient picking.
· Ensure stock is correctly labelled and located.
· Own inventory accuracy across all store’s locations.
· Carry out daily cycle counting in accordance with company procedures.
· Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes.
· Analyse inventory movements and system transactions using Epicor.
· Verify material issues and job consumption.
· Assist with BOM and inventory investigations where required.
· Lead and own stocktakes.
· Ensure inventory records remain accurate and up to date.
· Develop and improve inventory control processes.
· Identify opportunities to reduce stock discrepancies.
· Assist with warehouse layout and storage improvements.
· Support stock rotation and obsolete stock initiatives.
· Help develop Kanban and replenishment systems where appropriate.
· Recommend improvements to stores efficiency and inventory control.
· Ensure all inventory transactions are completed accurately within Epicor.
· Support improvements to ERP inventory processes.
· Produce inventory reports as required.
· Ensure production has the right materials at the right time.
· Respond quickly to material shortages.
· Work closely with Purchasing regarding stock shortages.
· Liaise with Production and Planning to prioritise urgent requirements.
· Promote safe working practices.
· Ensure stores remain clean, organised and compliant.
· Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Experience in a stores, warehouse or manufacturing environment.
· Previous experience leading a small team or the ambition to step into a leadership role.
· Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
· Experience using an ERP system (Epicor experience is an advantage but not essential).
· The ability to prioritise work in a busy environment.
· A positive attitude and willingness to improve processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and use initiative effectively.
Pay: €32,000.00-€37,000.00 per year
