We are now seeking a motivated and organised Purchaser to join our team at our Head Office in Galway. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting project delivery through efficient procurement and supplier management.
What You’ll Do
- Obtain supplier quotations and negotiate rates and terms to maximise cost efficiency.
- Procure building materials and process purchase orders through purchasing software systems.
- Manage the purchasing process through to payment stage.
- Source and hire plant and site equipment including cabins, forklifts, fencing, and transport.
- Coordinate and manage plant and equipment movements across projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support project teams with procurement planning and purchasing administration.
- Ensure purchasing activities are carried out in line with company procedures and project requirements.
- Assist in maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation.
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role within construction or builders providers is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of building materials and construction supply chains is advantageous.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good IT skills and experience using purchasing software or Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.
