We are a busy, friendly GP surgery serving the Delvin and Clonmellon communities, and we are looking for a warm, organised Medical Receptionist to join our team. This is a part-time role across our practice, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly.
About the role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key part in their experience of the practice. Day-to-day duties include:
- Greeting patients and managing the reception desk
- Answering and directing phone calls
- Booking, rescheduling and managing appointments
- Handling patient queries in a calm, professional and confidential manner
- Managing patient records and general administrative tasks
- Liaising with GPs, nurses and other healthcare staff
- Supporting the smooth running of the practice
About you
- A friendly, professional manner and a genuine care for patients
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good computer literacy and comfortable learning new systems
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Reliable, flexible and a good team player
- Previous experience in a medical reception, administrative or customer-facing role is beneficial but not essential
