Role Summary
We are recruiting an experienced Head Chef to manage and lead our kitchen. This is a senior kitchen management role requiring strong leadership, creativity and a passion for delivering consistently high standards.
Group Support
Our Head Chef role comes with the strength of a wider group behind it, with Health & Safety, HR, Purchasing and Marketing departments supporting your day-to-day operations so you can concentrate on leading the kitchen and delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will oversee food service, menu development, team leadership, food safety compliance, and cost management, while maintaining exceptional food quality and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations in a busy Galway city centre restaurant.
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Develop and implement innovative, seasonal menus with a focus on steak and seafood.
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Manage food costs, gross profit margins, and kitchen budgets.
- Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager to implement and monitor HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Lead, train, motivate, and develop chefs and kitchen porters.
- Schedule, delegate, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
- Reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Head Chef.
- Experience working in a high-quality, fast paced restaurant restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and kitchen compliance.
- Proven ability in menu development, food cost control, and team management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to meet targets, deadlines, and operational KPIs.
- Passion for cooking, creativity, and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
