Letterkenny Medics Private Medical & Aesthetics Clinic is a modern private medical, urgent care and aesthetics clinic based in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.
We provide a wide range of healthcare services under one roof, including walk-in GP consultations, urgent care, preventative health screening, minor procedures, blood testing, IV therapy and aesthetic treatments.
We are currently seeking an experienced Doctor / GP to join our clinical team on a full-time basis for a 1-year contract.
The Role
The successful doctor will provide high-quality medical care to patients attending our private GP and urgent care clinic.
This is a varied, hands-on clinical position for a confident doctor who is comfortable managing routine general practice consultations, urgent presentations and minor procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general practice consultations, including routine and urgent presentations
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting to the clinic
- Manage walk-in urgent care cases
- Assess and treat minor injuries
- Perform blood collection / phlebotomy
- Carry out appropriate minor surgical procedures
- Request and interpret appropriate investigations and diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications safely and appropriately
- Provide preventative healthcare and health screening
- Develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans
- Refer patients to specialists or hospital services when clinically required
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
- Clearly explain diagnoses, treatment options and follow-up plans to patients
- Work collaboratively with nurses, healthcare assistants, administration staff and other members of the clinical team
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, confidentiality and clinical care
- Follow clinic policies, infection-control procedures and relevant Irish medical regulations
Essential Requirements
- Fully registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
- Minimum 3 years' GP experience in Ireland
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Confident managing both routine GP and urgent-care presentations
- Competent in blood collection, minor surgery and minor injury management
- Strong prescribing and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Comfortable using electronic medical record systems
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must have the legal right to work in Ireland
- Visa sponsorship is not available
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Private general practice
- Urgent care or walk-in clinics
- Minor surgery
- Preventative health screening
- IV or wellness medicine
- Aesthetic medicine
