Position Overview
Our client seeks an experienced, qualified electrician is sought for an office-based technical assurance role, reviewing electrical submissions before they are uploaded to the Uisce Éireann portal. The focus is on technical correctness, compliance, and practical constructability — not site delivery. The role is ideally suited to someone with strong hands-on site experience who is looking to step back from full-time field work into a stable, office-based technical position.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Review of Electrical Submissions
- Review electrical documentation prepared by site teams prior to submission to Uisce Éireann.
- Ensure all submissions are technically sound, complete, and consistent with expected electrical standards and good engineering practice.
- Identify issues that could cause delays, non-compliances, or rejections at UE stage before they reach the portal.
Panel and Electrical System Review
- Carry out detailed reviews of electrical panels and associated systems from a technical and safety perspective.
- Flag issues, errors, or inconsistencies in documentation before submission.
Technical Back-Up to Site Personnel
- Act as a technical back-up to site crews, talking them through issues encountered on site.
- Advise on electrical matters where required, drawing on hands-on electrical experience.
- Provide a single point of escalation for technical electrical questions from field teams.
Office-Based Collaboration
- Work alongside existing office staff involved in work order dispatching and administration.
- Maintain a clear focus on technical assurance rather than administration.
Minimum Requirements
- Time-served, fully qualified electrician with formal electrical qualifications.
- Significant hands-on site experience as a working electrician.
- Strong working knowledge of Irish electrical standards and Safe Electric inspection requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and schematics.
- Capable of independently assessing electrical work and designs.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior experience working on Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) projects or other utility infrastructure programmes.
- Experience with MCC electrical panels and water/wastewater treatment plant electrical systems.
- Familiarity with electrical inspection and test documentation.
- Exposure to quality assurance or technical review work.
