Retail Sales Assistant
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
Christmas Closure: The store is closed over the Christmas holidays.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. You will be responsible for providing an excellent customer experience, helping customers find the right products, and contributing to the overall success of the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly and provide a friendly, engaging experience.
- Assist customers with product enquiries and provide knowledgeable advice to help them make purchasing decisions.
- Build strong relationships with customers and deliver consistently high levels of customer service.
- Identify sales opportunities, actively promote products, and confidently close sales.
- Maintain attractive, well-organised and fully stocked product displays.
- Keep the sales floor clean, tidy and inviting.
- Support in-store promotions, campaigns and merchandising activities.
- Process sales accurately using the POS system and other relevant technology.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Contribute to achieving store sales targets and overall business objectives.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Around five years' proven retail sales experience, with a strong track record of achieving sales results.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales ability, including prospecting, relationship building and closing sales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence when presenting products and speaking with customers.
- A professional, positive and approachable manner.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using POS systems and other retail technology.
