Senior Civil Engineering Technician – Westport, Co. Mayo
Langan Consulting Engineers is an Irish-owned consultancy established in 2012 with headquarters in Westport, Co. Mayo. We provide civil and structural design consultancy services throughout Ireland and the UK.
This role will involve 3D modelling (AutoDesk, Civil3D and Revit), BIM coordination and preparation of construction drawings for a wide range of infrastructure, coastal and environmental engineering projects across Ireland and the UK. Utilizing the very latest design, analysis and modelling technologies, we help clients build sustainable infrastructure while protecting the natural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and drafting process, liaising with multi-disciplinary teams on complex building and infrastructural design projects.
- Transform concepts and design intent into accurate and precise drawings and models using relevant software tools.
- Liaise directly with clients, site contractors and all relevant colleagues as required.
- Lead the delivery of all required modelling projects maintaining high standards of accuracy and completeness at all times.
- Management and development of company drafting and BIM systems and standards
- Manage, train and guide junior drafting and modelling personnel
Key Requirements
- Proficiency in IT and strong knowledge of drafting software and engineering design software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and BIM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Proficiency in GIS is beneficial although not essential.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and technical report writing skills.
- The ability to influence others and communicate effectively is required.
- Third-level qualification in a mechanical, civil or structural design or a related field is beneficial although not essential.
- Significant (5 years plus) experience of working in an engineering drafting and modelling role in a consultancy office type environment is required.
