The Role
GMC are currently looking for an experienced Gas Mainlayer to join our team on projects across Waterford, Tipperary and Wexford Regions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
- Excavation Work
- Laying Services and Mains as per the OPM up to and including 400 mm
- Non-Routine Operations (NROs) implementing and working under a NRO
- Site safety and the safety of yourself and all who enter your work area
- Management of workload
- Completing work on the Handheld Device
- On Call requirement, both in and out of hours
- Comply with all GMC company policies and processes
- Awareness of cost management
- Setting up a safe and Professional site at all times
- Meet your key targets set by your manager
- Keep up with Key Performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to your work and be aware of KPIs as you work
- Locations of works are at the discretion of your manager
- Comply with GNI, GMC and External auditors and audit procedures at all times
- Complete weekly plant and vehicle inspection sheets
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
- GDF2 qualification or similar and successfully completed all GNI assessments
- Hold a Location of Underground Services Ticket
- Hold a 3 Day SLG ticket to allow you to erect a traffic management plan
- A full Clean Driving Licence (EC1 desirable)
- Must be able to spot risks and complete a site-specific risk Assessment on a daily/site basis
- Excellent knowledge of the GNI Operational Procedures Manual
- At least 3 years’ experience working as a Gas Mainlayer, Utility Mainlayer, or in a similar civil utilities role.
- Have completed the excavation and shoring course
- Have completed the GNI leak management course
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to be on an On-Call rota
