Base Location: Tarbert Generation Station, Kerry
Salary: €49,400 - €74,200 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance by providing expert maintenance support across all mechanical.
Some of your other main accountabilities will be;
- Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities across a range of station assets, working closely with Mechanical Engineers and the planning team to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operation.
- Supporting the successful delivery of site projects, contributing to all stages of the project lifecycle including business case development, technical specification, procurement, implementation and commissioning, in line with SSE and station objectives.
- Coordinating and managing contractor activities, ensuring all work is delivered safely and compliantly, while meeting SHE, technical, quality and commercial requirements.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records for all completed work, ensuring valuable insights, trends and lessons learned are captured to support continuous improvement and asset reliability.
To be successful in this role, we would love you to have;
- National Craft Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (NFQ Level 6 or equivalent).
- Extensive maintenance experience within the power generation sector or a comparable industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Maximo or similar Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for planning, tracking and controlling maintenance activities.
- Appropriate understanding of the business processes necessary to operate, maintain and control power plants
