National Account Manager
Role Purpose
The National Account Manager will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of national customer accounts across Ireland. The role will focus on delivering profitable sales growth, executing commercial strategies, negotiating trading agreements, and building long-term partnerships that drive mutual success.
The National Account Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping account strategies, leading annual business planning processes, ensuring excellence in execution across all customer touchpoints, and managing the Off-Trade Sales Representatives to deliver sales targets, customer service standards, and in-market execution across the Off-Trade channel.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Management & Customer Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across national customer accounts.
- Lead annual business planning and joint business planning processes with customers.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, promotional plans, pricing structures, and trading terms.
- Deliver agreed sales, volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Identify opportunities to grow distribution, visibility, and rate of sale across all brands.
- Conduct regular business reviews and performance analysis with customers.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the Off-Trade Sales Representatives, ensuring effective territory management and delivery of sales objectives.
Commercial Strategy & Growth
- Implement national account strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Drive growth of proprietary brands while maximising opportunities for partner brands within the portfolio.
- Identify new business opportunities and routes to market.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer developments to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to deliver impactful customer activations and promotional programmes.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Proven experience in National Account Management, Key Account Management, or a similar commercial role within FMCG, beverages, or consumer goods.
- Experience leading, coaching, or managing sales teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating trading agreements and commercial terms.
- Demonstrated success in delivering sales growth and managing key customer relationships.
