Ballyheane Buttercups Community Childcare Service requires a confident and enthusiastic Afterschool Leader to work with our Senior Afterschool children.
Working hours Monday to Friday 1.30pm-6pm. This is a term times position for the 38 weeks of the school term.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
Supervising and supporting the afterschool children with their homework
Planning age appropriate activities for the children
Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of the children in your care
Serving of a hot dinner and preparation of an afternoon snack
Maintaining attendance records for the children each day and ensuring cleaning duties are carried out and records kept up to date
Maintaining close, effective working partnerships with parents
You may be required to Plan and run timetables for Halloween / Easter / Summer Camps
To be a successful candidate for this role:
A QQI qualification in Childcare is desired but not a necessity. Additional hours may be available for those who have a QQI Level 5 in childcare.
A creative and resourceful mind for arts n crafts
An appreciation for the importance of outdoor play
Excellent communication skills
The ability to plan age appropriate activities for children aged 6 -12 years.
