Danny Mac’s is an exciting new pub opening in the heart of Carlow. We’re creating a venue that combines the warmth of a traditional Irish pub with modern entertainment, including pool tables, interactive darts, shuffleboard and a private karaoke room.
We’re looking for an ambitious, energetic and hands-on Pub Manager to lead the business from the front. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who wants to make their mark and help build one of Carlow’s premier licensed venues.
The Role
As Pub Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high operational standards and leading a motivated team.
You’ll work closely with the owners to grow sales, develop staff and create a venue that customers return to week after week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day pub operations.
- Recruit, train and motivate the team.
- Prepare staff rotas and manage labour costs.
- Deliver outstanding customer service.
- Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Monitor sales, gross profit and operating costs.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, food safety and health & safety regulations.
- Oversee cash handling and end-of-day procedures.
- Plan and deliver successful entertainment and promotional events.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the venue.
- Lead by example during busy service periods.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ management experience in a busy pub, bar or hospitality venue.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Commercially minded, with experience managing costs and driving sales.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable customer experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
