One of our clients, a leading private hospital in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Manager III – Haematology & Oncology to provide senior clinical, professional and operational leadership across its specialist services.
This is an influential leadership appointment for an experienced oncology nurse manager who is committed to clinical excellence, compassionate patient care and the development of high-performing nursing teams.
Working closely with senior nursing leadership, consultants and multidisciplinary colleagues, the successful candidate will contribute to the strategic direction and continued advancement of the Haematology and Oncology service, while ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence-based and person-centred care.
The Role
As Clinical Nurse Manager III, you will provide visible and effective leadership across the service, supporting excellence in clinical practice, operational performance, workforce development and patient experience.
You will play a central role in shaping nursing strategy, maintaining robust clinical governance and leading service-improvement initiatives within a complex acute hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior clinical, professional and operational leadership across the Haematology and Oncology service.
- Lead the delivery of safe, compassionate, evidence-based and person-centred nursing care.
- Support the strategic planning, development and continuous improvement of specialist services.
- Lead, motivate and develop nursing teams, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and professional excellence.
- Work closely with consultants, senior nursing leadership and multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient care.
- Oversee workforce planning, rostering, resource allocation and service-capacity requirements.
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance, risk management, infection prevention and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and support clinical audits, quality-improvement programmes and patient-safety initiatives.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, service performance and relevant quality indicators.
- Support the effective management and investigation of incidents, complaints and identified clinical risks.
- Promote evidence-based practice, professional development and continuous learning across the nursing team.
- Contribute to accreditation, inspection and quality-assurance programmes.
- Lead change-management and service-development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and the future development of Haematology and Oncology services.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, with an active NMBI PIN.
- Have a minimum of five years’ post-registration clinical nursing experience within an acute hospital environment.
- Have at least three years’ experience in a nursing leadership or management position, ideally at CNM2 level or equivalent.
- Hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Oncology Nursing or another relevant recognised specialist qualification.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and professional expertise in oncology, haematology and/or specialist palliative-care services.
- Have experience leading and developing nursing teams within a complex clinical environment.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, quality improvement and clinical audit.
- Possess excellent leadership, communication, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound, timely decisions in a demanding clinical environment.
- Possess a high standard of written and spoken English appropriate to senior clinical and leadership responsibilities.
- Be legally entitled to work in Ireland without employer-sponsored employment permission.
Desirable Criteria
The following experience or qualifications would be advantageous:
- A recognised postgraduate qualification in healthcare management, leadership or a related discipline.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and a strong commitment to lifelong learning.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing organisational or clinical change.
- Experience in workforce planning, rostering and resource management.
- Demonstrated success in leading measurable improvements in clinical practice, patient safety or service delivery.
- Sound knowledge of operational management, healthcare governance and human-resource practices.
- Experience preparing clinical services for inspection, accreditation or external review.
- Knowledge of HIQA, Joint Commission International and OECI standards and accreditation processes.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant healthcare information systems.
- The ability to identify and progress opportunities for innovation and future service development.

Salary
The salary for this position is €73K-85K, aligned with the current HSE Clinical Nurse Manager III salary scale.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on relevant experience, recognised service and the hospital’s applicable salary-placement arrangements.
