Full Job Description
We are currently recruiting a Security Officer for a site in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting the client’s property, people, and assets by providing professional security services in line with site instructions, company procedures, and client requirements.
Key Purpose
To carry out security duties on site and help maintain a safe, secure, and professional environment for employees, visitors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all duties in line with site policies, procedures, instructions, and manuals
- Prevent and detect unauthorised entry
- Protect site assets and help prevent loss, damage, or waste
- Manage keys in line with site procedures
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Report, record, and respond to incidents, accidents, health and safety matters, and emergencies
- Carry out regular checks and patrols to support a safe and secure environment
- Support the reception team after hours, including visitor management where required
- Provide assistance during functions and events
- Complete all training relevant to the site
- Maintain good working knowledge of site duties and procedures
- Report any knowledge gaps or concerns to line management
- Look out for, act upon, and report potential issues to the relevant person
- Wear the uniform correctly at all times
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and professionalism
Key Requirements
- Previous security experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Proactive approach to work
- Able to work on own initiative
- Fully flexible in relation to hours and place of work
- Strong verbal and written accuracy
