Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial function and support growth for our property management. You will drive financial planning, risk management and reporting, helping shape long-term strategy and sustainable scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead financial planning and forecasting aligned with business strategy.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on growth plans, budgeting, and capital allocation.
- Evaluate strategic opportunities (e.g., investments, new service lines, partnerships).
Financial Operations & Controls
- Oversee all financial operations: accounting, cash flow, billing, payroll, tax, compliance.
- Implement and maintain robust financial systems, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure timely, accurate management accounts and statutory financial statements.
Cash Flow & Risk Management
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity, ensuring the business meets commitments.
- Identify financial risks and propose effective mitigation plans.
- Manage insurance, compliance with Irish and EU regulations (e.g., tax, VAT, GDPR where relevant).
Team Leadership
- Build and lead a small finance function; mentor finance and accounting staff.
- Establish best practice financial policies and procedures.
Property-Specific Finance Tasks
- Oversee service charge accounting, trust fund management (if applicable), and client fund reconciliations.
- Work with operations to align property performance metrics and financial outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications
- Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent finance degree.
- Significant experience in finance leadership, ideally within property, real estate services, or SMEs.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership capability.
- Experience with property management software and financial systems advantageous.
