A progressive farm in Tullamore is looking for a reliable and motivated Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team. We operate a robotic milking and feeding system for our Dairy Herd. The cows are housed 365 days with all year round calving. Cow comfort and cow health is 100% our priority.
Candidate Requirements:
- Willingness to work on a farm with high yielding Holstein cows.
- Fluent in English.
- Valid work visa (if applicable).
- Training on our Robotic Systems can be provided.
- Experience with farm machinery desirable but not essential.
- Has the ability and confidence to work on own initiative.
Key Duties:
- Livestock cared for to the highest standard-feeding, health monitoring, lameness, fertility and follow on stock.
- Ensuring all equipment and surrounding areas are kept clean.
- Daily routine jobs include thoroughly cleaning and liming cubicle beds using a ride on bedder, replacing milk filters, wash down on robots, health checks and treatment where appropriate, identify possible heats and notify and arrange AI technician.
- Prepping and filling robotic kitchen (Lely Vector System)
- Silo Management and housekeeping.
- Check all chemical and mineral levels.
- Training for all of the above will be provided
- Passion and enthusiasm for the above is essential!
Pay: €30,000.00-€39,000.00 per year
