Chef Manager
Background:
Southill Hub delivers a range of social, educational and community services on the Southside of the City. The Hill Café serves breakfast and lunch, Monday to Friday and meals to Southill Afterschools in the afternoon. The café also provides external catering to organisations across the city.
Overall Purpose of the Job
The role involves producing high quality meals for the community and developing & expanding the range of services offered by the Hill Café
Key Responsibilities:
Cafe Management
- Ensuring effective delivery of all in-house and external catering
- Providing appropriate training, experience and support to those working in the café on Labour Market Programmes (CE/TUS) and work experience (Leaving Cert Applied, Transition Year etc.)
- Ensuring all areas of the café meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene and ensure café is compliant with all relevant legislation
- Ensure café maintains principles of healthy eating and value for money
- Organise time of work based around business needs. If there are additional hours needed to be worked for events/catering then work with the team to determine hours of work needed
Financial Management:
- Monitoring budget spend
- Working with Café Team and Management to monitor café finances
Promotion:
- Actively promote the café across the city and try to develop new markets and clients for external catering
Terms & Conditions
- 37.5 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday, breakfast and lunch with some flexibility required
- 26 days annual leave per annum
- Salary €36,540 per annum
