About The Role:
At RACE we are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer. You will play an important role in installations, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs on balers, bin presses and crushers at our customer sites. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service and the ability to work independently in the field. You will represent RACE on the ground, ensuring clients receive outstanding technical expertise and customer care.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on recycling equipment.
- Respond to emergency breakdown callouts within agreed service response times.
- Install, decommission, and provide training on balers, crushers and bin presses for safe usage.
- Complete service reports via Workflow system, risk assessments, and maintenance records accurately.
- Maintain safety standards and complete regular housekeeping records.
- Collaborate with staff, customers, and suppliers in a professional manner.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Skills and Experience
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Field Service Engineer.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical skills.
- Expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and welding systems.
- Basic electrical diagnostic experience (motors, sensors, control systems).
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full, clean Irish driving licence.
- Electrical qualifications preferred.
- Experience within recycling, waste management, or industrial machinery sectors desired.
- Flexibility to work weekends if required.
