We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious qualified accountant to join our Group Finance team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation of statutory financial statements, tax compliance, IFRS 16 lease accounting and the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across the Group.
The role will also provide operational finance support to one or more business units, including month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, working capital management, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
Working closely with operational, commercial and finance teams, the successful candidate will help ensure the integrity of financial information, support decision-making and maintain a strong financial control environment. Responsibilities:
Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary on key financial performance indicators.
Ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
Preparation of statutory financial statements for Group entities in accordance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements.
Assist external tax advisors with the preparation of corporation tax computations and supporting tax analyses, while helping to manage the Group's tax compliance obligations.
Management of the Group's IFRS 16 lease accounting process, including maintenance of lease registers, calculation of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities, and preparation of associated disclosures.
Support the annual external audit process, including preparation of audit files, provision of supporting documentation and resolution of audit queries.
Preparation and review of VAT, PAYE/PRSI and other statutory returns, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Support the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and long-range financial plans for assigned business units, providing meaningful analysis and insight to operational management.
Manage working capital performance, including debtors, WIP, creditors and cash flow, while supporting initiatives to optimise cash generation across the business.
Management of intercompany transactions, reconciliations and balances, ensuring timely resolution of differences.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting quality, controls and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with Group policies, accounting standards and internal controls.
Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work.
Requirements:
ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant.
Big 4 or strong audit-trained background desirable.
Newly qualified or up to 3 years' post-qualification experience.
Experience in statutory reporting, audit, tax compliance and month-end financial reporting.
Exposure to IFRS 16 lease accounting and multi-entity environments would be advantageous.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical skills with a high standard of numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
